Help maintain our card database

May 21, 2015

We want to have the most detailed and accurate data for collectible cards on the net, but it’s difficult to maintain such an extensive database. So we are requesting your help. As you are the experts, you are best positioned to identify any mistakes or missing data on our site, and now you can correct them right away.

When you open the details window for a card you will see now an ‘Edit’ button:
Card edit button
Click on it and you will be taken to a form where you can make any necessary changes to the info for that card. It’s that easy!

And as a reward for your help you will get 5 Friendship Points for each item that you correct on a card.

You can also add a new card to an existing set. You’ll find an ‘Add card’ button at the bottom of the list of cards in a set.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

2014 in review

January 14, 2015

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,200 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 37 trips to carry that many people.

New main menu design

January 4, 2015

We have redesigned our main menu to be more clear, colorful, and convenient.

  • It now shows complete at the top of the page so that you don’t need to scroll down to go to any of our sections.
  • It uses colors and images to better identify each available option.
  • Each section expands dynamically to occupy less space while not in use.

Hope you enjoy it.

Insert cards in your text!

September 16, 2014

When posting your comments in our forums and discussions many times you talk about cards that your readers may not know by heart. Now you can make all the details and info about a card accessible whenever you mention it with a new tag that you can generate automatically by using the form at the top of your text area:

Form to insert a card name or image in your text

This will insert the card’s name or image and will show all the info about that card when you hover your mouse over that name or image, like this:

Card details being shown when you place your cursor over the card's name

The name is also a link to the details page for that card.

This should make your comments and card reviews much more informative and clear. Try it out!

Average card prices

June 24, 2014

As you know, we already offer price data for most cards: in the card details window you can see the minimum, average and maximum price for the card, retrieved from multiple online stores. Up until now, though, you had to click on each card to check its price.

Now we are showing the average price value on card lists so that you can see this data without having to click on each card and so that it’s easier for you to compare prices among different cards. You can see this information in your haves and wants and in other members’ collections. This is also very useful when adding cards to a trade.

Furthermore we are also showing the total average price for decks by adding up the average prices of all the individual cards. We are also doing this for trades. So you can now see the cost of building a deck, and the total value of the cards sent and received in a Tracked Trade.

This feature is currently available for the following games: Magic, Pokemon, Yugioh, Cardfight Vanguard, World of Warcraft, and Redakai.
If you want prices to be displayed for any other game you may want to contact our price data provider (TCGPlayer.com) here. If many people request it they might work on adding your game to their database.

Business cards for everyone!

April 19, 2014

As you know, you can design your own customized business cards to print them out or to share them on the web. These cards include information about your levels, number of references, or years on the site. Now we have made them so that they update themselves automatically. This way you can post them in forums or other sites and will always show the most current data about you and your progress on our site.

Just go to the card design form and copy the new share codes. Use them in your forum signatures or as your avatar and they will always show your correct data.

We have also added new templates for the latest popular games:

Detailed card lists

March 23, 2014

When searching for cards you can now list all the details for each card so that you have all the information displayed at the same time.

New detailed format for lists of cards in our searches

This way it’s easier to identify the cards you are interested in when searching our database, or other users’ lists, or when looking for cards to add to your decks.

Also, when browsing our card database you can also display just the cards images for a more compact view:

That is, one month for the third classified, two months for the second position, and three months for the winner.

Thank you all for your participation!

Improved Virtual Tables

January 6, 2014

I have improved our online gaming system and added quite a few new features to make playing much easier and much more fun.

Among other things:

  • A door bell rings each time a new user enters the game room so that you know there is a new player available for a duel.
  • Your hand has now a menu that lets you do 3 new things:
    • Show your hand to your opponent with just one click.
    • Choose one card randomly.
    • Shuffle the cards in your hand.

  • Players’ avatars appear in the actions window to more easily identify who does or says what.
  • When viewing the large image of a card you now also see the text and details of that card for easier reading.
  • You can now peek at your face-down cards so that you can see what card each one is without revealing them to your opponent or having to take them into your hand.

  • Cards are now sleeved so that their backs are red for one player and blue for the other, so that you can know whom each face-down card belongs to.
  • In addition to flipping coins and rolling dice, you can now play “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with your opponent.

I hope that you enjoy these new features and that they make your games easier and more fun to play.
